5:30 pm: Festival Kick-Off!!! $5.00 Racing fee. Featuring the MOREL CHALLENGE Registration starts at 4:30 with racing promptly at 5:30 pm: This is a Zany Car Race. Click here for race details. All kids get a prize!

3:00 -4:00pm: Wild Edibles Seminar on Foraging and Cooking with culinary guru John Sheets - John will be speaking on how to find over 20 wild edibles and then he will show you how to cook them.
- 4:00 pm: Morel Seminar with local expert Anthony Williams & taste Morel Soup from area restaurants. Anthony Williams "expert in residence" shares local lore and legend, shares his knowledge and give a fantastic send-off to those participating in the guided hunt. Seminar is free - morel soup is offered at a small charge

4:30 pm: Guided Mushroom Hunt departs ($10.00 fee; must register in advance) May 11 update - All further registrations will be taken at 3:30 p.m. on Friday AS ROOM ALLOWS!!!
- Children must be at least 4 years old to participate, no discounts given.

- 7:30-9:00 am: 50th annual Boyne Valley Lions' National Mushroom Hunt competition: Registration starts at 7:30 (for under registration tab), buses leave at 9:00 this is a competitive hunt-90 minutes prizes are awarded in several categories –senior resident, senior non-resident example, $15. registration fee. Winners announced at 3:00pm in the festival tent

This year featured Chef is Eric Vellegas from the PBS show Fork in the Road. $2.00 admission to tent during 'taste' - tickets sold for food and beverages.

Carnival in Veterans' Park Continues
- 11:00am - 5:00pm - Mushroom Pole Registration - bring in your small, large, unusual morels to put them on display and have a chance at winning a prize!Mushroom Pole - located on Main Street in front of Pat O'Brien Realty . Bring in your mushroom find for display and prizes. Prizes awarded under the tent (Morelfest headquarters) at 5:30 pm.

Great Morel Giveaway winners announced - COGRATULATION TO ALL!! The first Great Morel Giveaway was a big success during the 50th National Morel Mushroom Festival. Two pounds of morel mushrooms were given to each of 26 winners at 26 downtown Boyne City businesses. Thanks to Tony Williams of Freshwater Studio for organizing this fun event, which finished with the "Morel Mob" marching through the streets for the drawings at each location. Click here for photos,.
